Fort Pickens National Park is at one end of the Florida National Scenic Trail on Santa Rosa Island in The Gulf Islands National Seashore. The Fort is an historic and scenic treasure! Waves, sand, seashells and the beach birds of Florida are irresistible! Florida beaches are home to squawking, soaring, nesting and diving birds of all kinds!  We sometimes sit for hours on a beach to watch the birds.      We have learned to really take our time when traveling so we don’t miss the everyday treasures of the place. The Barque Castle: A Tall Ship
