Destin, Florida: A Visit To Harborwalk Village

Even though I love to travel all over the US I also enjoy just doing local travel. A couple of weeks ago on a Sunday morning I decided to do just that as I headed just east of where I currently reside in Gulf Breeze, Florida to Destin, Florida and the Harborwalk Village. It’s less than an hour drive, of course it depends on traffic. However this time of year (February) is the off season so traffic was not bad. To get there I drive along Hwy 98 which takes me through another cool place, Fort Walton Beach. Destin is located about a 20 minute drive from Fort Walton Beach….

Add them together (plus restaurants that would send foodies to heaven), and you have Pensacola, Florida! Who knew? Pensacola is one of those towns where people make you feel like family, the arts and deep sea fishing combine with sandy feet and a laid-back vibe. You have to visit!!       Park your car downtown and walk!     There isn’t heavy traffic and this city is made for strolling! The wrought iron details on the buildings and covered sidewalks beckon you past bakeries, restaurants and unique boutiques….

Do you enjoy watching a gorgeous setting sun? Well, here in NW Florida along the Gulf Coast, it’s just about an everyday day opportunity. We have some of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. Even though I enjoy traveling around the country, I hate to miss an opportunity to photograph the sunsets here in NW Florida. Depending on which way I head, in most cases it’s only a five minute drive or less for me to be able to capture that setting sun. Many times I will head to the beach, either Navarre Beach or over to Pensacola Beach. Sometimes I will even head out the Point which…

BIRDS OF THE ALLIGATOR FARM ZOOLOGICAL PARK ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park This past April, The Traveling Seniors attended the Florida Birding & Photo Fest which was held in St. Augustine, Florida. On a Sunday while Barb was attending a morning workshop, I decided to head over to the Alligator Farm to photograph some of the cool birds that spend time there. I was surprised to see all the different types of birds that make their homes at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine enduring April. Even though below the trees the area is filled with Alligators the birds seem to have no fear of them….

Stu and I attended the 2019 Florida Birding and Photo Fest in St. Augustine, Florida and were totally captivated by the birds, the city, the food and the residents of America’s oldest city!     The charms of historic St. Augustine, Florida will keep you enthralled, no matter what your interests! St. Augustine is America’s oldest city and has 400 years of history and culture to enjoy! This city dates from 1563!     Of course, we had heard of Juan Ponce de Leon, Sir Francis Drake, Henry Flagler and the Timucua Indians. A Visit To Calagaz Photo & Digital Imaging

Recently we had the opportunity to visit Galagaz Photo & Digital Imaging. The store is located in Pensacola, Florida. Now for full disclosure I do purchase most of my camera gear at Galagaz.  I sat down with Rob Kepko who is the Sales Manager for the store and chatted about photography in general. During our chat we discussed current and future digital cameras both DSLR and Mirrorless. We also discussed pre owned camera gear. Toward the end of the video we do a little tour of the store. It was a fun discussion that I hope you will enjoy. Remember if you have any camera related questions please use the…
